The view from Alcatraz, this is what you'd need to swim across to get away.

The back says, "Throughout the federal prison years, 1934-1963, the men incarcerated in U.S.P. Alcatraz endured a restrictive daily schedule of endless headcounts and constant observation. Work assignments, reading material, and family visits were privileges, not rights, and were taken away upon violation of any of the numerous rules."
I'm thinking I should tell the kids this is the rule here, too, what do you think? ;-)

Our Lady of Guadalupe. I love stained glass windows, and I love Catholic saints, so this one is extra special!

It's not obvious, but this one's an oversize card. Most are 4x6, but this one is 4x9! The photographer is Thea Schrack, according to the back of the card. I'm going to have to look for more of her work, this is lovely!

This one can go with my earlier Alcatraz postcard!
It features:
Bootlegging Gangster Al "Scarface" Capone
Bank Robber/Kidnapper George "Machine Gun" Kelly
&
Robert "Birdman" Stroud, who never actually kept birds at Alcatraz. He did raise and keep them at Leavenworth, though

This is a result of a fun game at the Postcrossing Forums called "UYI, Use Your Imagination." You got to choose a series of any three letters, and the next person had to send you a postcard filling those initials. The person before me left "G. U. G." and I sent her a card of the Denver Capitol Building (ie Gray Under Gold, for the granite walls and gold dome.)
Then I left the letters R. A. C. for the next person and this is what I got. She sent "Retro And Current." Pretty clever, huh? It's San Francisco's Chinatown.

This is the first "Ad Card" I've received! Also from the "White Postcard" swap. It's for the Acela Express route on the Amtrak, that goes from Boston to Washington D.C.
